The museum, a permanent exhibition, has been open in new premises since August 2010 - a building next to the Gothic Church of the Sacrifice of the Lord (Catholic Church).
História súčasnej stálej expozície "História a významné osobnosti obce" a výstavnej činnosti vôbec sa začala písať v r.1975, kedy vďaka neúnavnej snahe učiteľa V.Devečku vznikla Pamätná izba Fraňa Kráľa. Dnešná expozícia má širší rámec - predstavuje návštevníkom celkový prierez históriou obce Smrečany spojený s ukážkou starých ľudových remesiel, hospodárskych nástrojov, krojov, starých dokumentov, fotografií apod. Exponáty boli zoradené pri príležitosti 700.výročia založenia obce (1999) a vzhľadom na veľký záujem návštevníkov sú v tomto zložení ponechané dodnes. Okrem dobových exponátov je v stálej expozícii možné sa zoznámiť s najznámejšími osobnosťami, ktorých život bol spojený s obcou Smrečany, a ktorých meno prerástlo jej hranice - napr. evanjelickí farári Pavel Rodoľub Čobrda, Vladimír Pavol Čobrda, obecní učitelia Emanuel Koritšánsky, Vladimír Devečka, Morhista Matej Jančo, spisovateľ Fraňo Kráľ a mnohí iní. Svoje miesto tu majú i viaceré záujmové skupiny obyvateľov vtedajších Smrečian - hasičský spolok, divadelné spolky, mládežnícke spolky a pod.

The Gothic Church of the Presentation of the Lord (in honor of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary) is the oldest building in Smrečany, which foundations were built in 1349. It is a single-nave building with a square sanctuary with crossed massive Roman ribs bridging the building in the east side and with an adjacent sacristy on the north side.
Ski center Žiar Dolinky is located at the foot of the southern hillslopes of the mountain range called the West Tatras, 10 km far from Liptovský Mikuláš. The overall length of the ski slopes is 0,65 km. The center is suitable for the beginners, but also for more demanding skiers.
