The narrow gauge railroad Korytnička was one of the major and productive transport possibilities of its time. It connected Ružomberok town with the famous Korytnica Spa. A locomotive at the railway station in Ružomberok is a memorial of its scratched glory.

The village of Bešeňová is one of the few precious places with occurrence of "freshwater" limestone, so-called travertine. These precious calcite forms arised thanks to mineral contents of water, its temperature and, of course, the surface and structure of the landscape.
