Jánska dolina je jednou z najkrajších a najdlhších dolín Nízkych Tatier.
The Štiavnica creek flows through the valley, which rises under Ďumbier, the highest peak of this mountain range (2043 m above sea level). Jánska Valley is rich in flora and fauna. The forests are mostly spruce with the occurrence of oaks, linden, pine and larch. Rare flowers grow: alpine alpine, alpine alpine, golden lily, alpine bellflower, fern and fever. Medicinal plants are also missing. The fruits grow here: strawberries, raspberries, cranberries, blueberries and parsnips. Mushrooms will certainly come to their place.
The animal kingdom is represented by: bears, wolves, wild boar, deer, roe deer, fox, rarely lynx, marten, chick, badger, weasel and marmot.
Rainbow trout and brown trout are rare in the stream. The air space belongs to predators such as: eagle, hawk, kay, falcon, sparrow, eagle owl and other species. The reptiles are: snake, spindle, lizard and salamander.
However, Jánska Valley is rich mainly in the occurrence of natural and karst formations. There are plenty of underground spaces, caves and abysses and several waterfalls. Small Stanišovská Cave (as one of the three: Veľká, Malá and Nová) is the only accessible cave in Jánska Valley, 450 m long. We can praise the Old Castle cave as the deepest in Slovakia, Revajov house is one of the largest underground spaces in Slovakia and we have the deepest cave gap in Central Europe with a depth of 423 m. The rarity of the Jánska valley is the karst plateau with a rock formation called Window.
Jánska Valley provides many possibilities for trips, walks, hiking (Ďumbier, Kraków Hoľa, Ohnište, Slemä, Poludnica), ridge tours (Ďumbier - Čertovica, Ďumbier - Chopok) but also sports, recreational and leisure activities: skiing downhill or cross-country skiing, cycling , running, speleo, entomological, art and photo hobby and more.
