Salaš Pastierska

Salaš Pastierska is an example of sheep farming, shepherding and sheep breeding, which all have a long tradition in Liptov.
The salaš is currently closed to the public. The grazing season starts in April and finishes in October.
The farm sells cheese and žinčica (boiled sheep whey) from May 1 and is open daily from 12:00 to 18:00. During the winter season, you can buy the products at Gazdovský dvor in Jalovec on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The farm is located in the Bobrovecká valley, at about 650 m above sea level and have ideal conditions for sheep breeding and dairy production.
An authentic salaš nestled under the peaks of the Western Tatras mountains - free grazing, manual milking, the production and sale of traditional sheep cheese products:
- fresh sheep’s milk cheese
- smoked sheep’s milk cheese
- sheep’s bryndza
- žinčica (boiled sheep whey)
- Salaš themed gifts
Traditional lamb and mutton dishes are available upon request.
Kids can enjoy a pony ride and adults can look forward to mutton goulash.
The products made in salaš are labelled the Produkt Liptova quality brand of local products, meaning they have been made by a certified, high-quality local producer.

Skicentrum Žiar-Dolinky
Ski center Žiar Dolinky is located at the foot of the southern hillslopes of the mountain range called the West Tatras, 10 km far from Liptovský Mikuláš. The overall length of the ski slopes is 0,65 km. The center is suitable for the beginners, but also for more demanding skiers.
Múzeum v Smrečanoch
The museum, a permanent exhibition, has been open in new premises since August 2010 - a building next to the Gothic Church of the Sacrifice of the Lord (Catholic Church).
Kostol Obetovania Pána v Smrečanoch
The Gothic Church of the Presentation of the Lord (in honor of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary) is the oldest building in Smrečany, which foundations were built in 1349. It is a single-nave building with a square sanctuary with crossed massive Roman ribs bridging the building in the east side and with an adjacent sacristy on the north side.
